Alpine Safety Board of Trustees meets on the Wallberg
On January 23, there was news on safe winter sports in the panorama restaurant of the Wallbergbahn. Experts led by Thomas Holz, Chairman of the Bavarian Board of Trustees for Alpine Safety, met to discuss current issues and challenges in winter sports.
The mountains are becoming increasingly popular in winter - more and more people are going tobogganing, for example. Fun for the whole family! But the flip side of the coin is that tobogganing accidents are also on the increase.
The DAV has therefore drawn up rules for safe tobogganing.
The danger of avalanches should also not be underestimated. The SNOBS app was presented here, which is intended to integrate even more information from skiers directly on site. It offers a simple tool with which every ski tourer can enter useful data on the condition of the snow cover, explained Feistl, giving all nature lovers a more accurate picture of the avalanche risk.
This was followed by a practical demonstration on searching for and rescuing buried victims.
